Abstract

This study was performed to evaluate the impact of adherence to national guidelines for management of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in different groups of doctors. In this study, a questionnaire was filled interview with a total of 322 with physicians working in hospitals, in different cities of Turkey. The recommendations of the national guideline were compared with the responses.

Introduction

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide in developing and developed countries, and its incidence is highest among children less than 5-y-old. It is estimated that each year 11 to 20 million children are hospitalized due to pneumonia and more than 2 million lose their lives.
